Digital Literacy Learning Reflection

Digital literacy, something I heard often but never really knew what it meant. After researching it a bit I found that Education Week offered a definition that made the most sense to me. “Digital literacy is having the knowledge and ability to use a range of technology tools for varied purposes.”

I believe the essential elements of digital literacy are being able to find and evaluate information, communicate and collaborate with others and use technology tools to achieve goals.

I believe to become effective digital learners and leaders we must stop assuming that younger generations are literate in technology just because they have grown up with it. We still need to teach them how to use it to get the best they can out of it.

I would like to learn how to implement digital literacy curriculum into my future classroom.
